Richmond, Virginia-based artist nabeel (نبيل)  has revealed his new single, ‘resala (رسالة)’. The track is in part an homage to the 90s rock radio he grew up hearing, re-contextualised alongside his exploration of Arabic poetry as lyrics. The end result brings together influence from slowcore and shoegaze into something that builds from its slow opening into an intense distortion-laden climax. His new EP, ghayoom (غيوم), is dropping on July 24th, 2025. It was written during a tumultuous period in his life, as he wandered aimlessly through Europe and the Middle East for months, allowing his writing to become transitional and existential. -Dan Peeke
